Sprig + Fern Tahuna is a little beauty! Another charming suburban tavern, with classic weatherboard cladding and a white picket fence, a sunny beer garden, very close to one of NZ’s best beaches. Whether you have trecked the hills, kicked a football around, or just spent the day soaking up the sun – Sprig + Fern Tahuna is the perfect spot to unwind.
Located on Beach Road, near Tahunanui Beach and Sports Field, Sprig + Fern Tavern Tahuna is a staple in the Tahunanui community.

Tahuna Sprig + Fern is owned by well known Tahuna locals Ben Douglas and Sam Fitzgerald.
Tahuna Sprig is definitely a team effort and we wouldn’t be where we are without our amazing staff.
Our Manager Kate looks after everything front of house and keeps everyone hydrated, while chef Tim Comber looks after the team in the kitchen making sure our great food keeps everyone happy.

At the Sprig & Fern Tavern Tahuna, we are always on the lookout for the freshest local ingredients for our meals. Supporting local suppliers wherever possible. Whether it’s something light to snack on from our stellar sharing plates, or a sit-down meal for the whole family – we pride ourselves on bringing you great food from scratch. From our house-made burgers to our IPA aioli.
We aim to accommodate everyone, we have a tasty kids’ menu and a large variety of different dishes for your dietary requirements.

Community + sponsorship
Sprig and Fern Tahuna are heavily involved in the local community, utilising our Thursday night quiz to raise funds for local charities and schools. We proudly sponsor local football Tahuna FC and touch rugby teams and are open to further fundraising opportunities.
Our doors are always open to organisations who are looking for support or for a base for events. We pride ourselves on our close relationship with other businesses in the Tahuna area, such as Kitesurf Nelson and work together to enhance our growing destination.
