Real Craft Beers and Ciders
The Sprig & Fern Brewery produces a big range of craft beers and ciders, and Sprig & Fern Taverns are the only places you can enjoy the whole range on tap.
Whether you’re partial to a dark porter, a scotch ale, a hoppy IPA or a crisp, refreshing lager, there is a beer here for your taste, and probably a few more besides.
Take home a rigger
We have an off licence, so you can take away your favourite beer or cider.
We supply 2 litre plastic riggers, or you can bring your own in to be refilled. We are more happy to keep it in the fridge for you while you stay and have a quick pint.
Food and bar snacks available
We serve a range of pizza’s, extremely popular curly fries, a ploughman’s platter and the mountain bikers’ favourite – BLT on either focaccia or rye bread.
See our blackboard menu or table talkers in the Tavern.
A selection of Nelson’s finest wines
We serve a range of wine, spirits and soft drinks.
As well as being New Zealand’s Craft Brewing Capital, the Nelson region is also home to numerous boutique vineyards, with a reputation for crafting superb aromatic varieties – such as Riesling, Pinot Gris and Gewürztraminer, as well as a distinctive take on Sauvignon Blanc. We source a selection of great wines from our local vineyards.
Group bookings and functions
You can reserve a table or two, if you’re lucky.
We’re not a big Tavern, and it gets pretty busy in here some nights, but we’ll do our best to accommodate your group if you want to reserve your favourite table in the corner. Please phone the Tavern during business hours on 03 545 7117 to talk to the Duty Manager about your needs.
